چکیده

This paper exploits the decomposition structure of large-scale hydrothermal generation expansion planning problem with an integrated modified Benders Decomposition and Progressive Hedging approach. We consider detailed realistic data from Brazilian power system to represent hourly chronological constraints based on typical days per month year. Also, we multistage stochastic nature optimal operational policy through co-optimized linear decision rules for individual reservoirs. Therefore, ensure investment decisions compatible a nonanticipative (implementable) policy. To solve optimization problem, propose improved method multiple instances master each which strengthened by primal cuts new generated master’s trial solution. Additionally, our approach allows using penalization terms accelerating convergence method. show that is 60% faster than benchmark. Finally, consideration can save 7.64% total cost (16.18% costs) significantly improve spot price profiles.

A Benders Decomposition Method to Solve an Integrated Logistics Network Designing Problem with Multiple Capacities

In this paper, a new model is proposed for the integrated logistics network designing problem. In many research papers in this area, it is assumed that there is only one option for the capacity of each facility in the network. However, this is not a realistic assumption because generally there may be many possible options for the capacity of the facility that is being established. Usually the c...

A Benders' Decomposition Method to Solve Stochastic Distribution Network Design Problem with Two Echelons and Inter-Depot Transportation

In many practical distribution networks, managers face significant uncertainties in demand, local price of building facilities, transportation cost, and macro and microeconomic parameters. This paper addresses design of distribution networks in a supply chain system which optimizes the performance of distribution networks subject to required service level. This service level, which is consider...

Accelerating Benders Decomposition with Heuristic Master Problem Solutions

In this paper, a general scheme for generating extra cuts during the execution of a Benders decomposition algorithm is presented. These cuts are based on feasible and infeasible master problem solutions generated by means of a heuristic. This article includes general guidelines and a case study with a fixed charge network design problem. Computational tests with instances of this problem show t...
